Frogvasion Mod (1.20.4, 1.19.3) – Hostile Frogs

Frogvasion Mod adds a variety of Hostile Frogs, custom items and blocks to Minecraft.

Features:

Soldier Frog

• Spawning
  • The Soldier Frog can spawn in every biome in the overworld, as long as there is a solid block underneath the spawning space. Their spawning is classified under the category “monsters”, while Frogs contribute to the animal mob cap. They can spawn in groups of 1-2 and have a spawning weight of 9.
  • On death, there is a 0.1% chance there to spawn a General Frog, hard difficulty changes this number to 1%.
• Special properties
  • It has 3.5 hearts and deals 2 hearts of damage by default.
  • The Soldier frog can step up 2 blocks, but will do it rarely.
  • Players and Slimes are potential targets to this frog and it will try to attack.
  • If another Soldier Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It has a reach of 2 blocks, but will pathfind to 1.75 blocks of its target.

Armed Frog

• Spawning
  • The Armed Frog spawns anywhere in swamps and mangrove swamps, as long as there is a solid block underneath the spawning space. Their spawning is classified under the category “monsters”, while Frogs contribute to the animal mob cap. They can spawn in groups of 1-2 and have a spawning weight of 2.
• Special properties
  • It has 5 hearts.
  • Players are targets to this frog and it will try to attack.
  • If another Armed Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It wants to pathfind away from the player while he shoots his 20 Tadpole Rockets at the player. This will fail if there are more than 50 entities inside a 100x100x100 radius centered on the Armed Frog.
  • On death, it will launch another 10 Tadpole Rockets, but same requirements apply as given above.

Tadpole Rocket

• Spawning
  • The Tadpole Rocket is shot from the cannon of an Armed Frog while this Armed frog is actively targetting an entity. They can spawn in groups of 20 at a time when shot, otherwise in a group of 10 upon the death of an Armed Frog.
• Special properties
  • It has 0.5 hearts and deals 0.5 hearts of damage by default.
  • A Tadpole Rocket cannot take falldamage.
  • Players are targets to this entity and it will try to attack.
  • If another Tadpole Rocket is nearby attacked, it will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It has no drops, as they are to easy to farm.

General Frog

• Spawning
  • On death of a Soldier Frog, there is a 0.1% chance there will spawn a General Frog, hard difficulty changes this number to 1%. There are no other ways to spawn a General Frog
• Special properties
  • It has 12.5 hearts and deals 4 hearts of damage by default.
  • The General frog can step up up to 3 blocks, but will do it rarely.
  • Players and Slimes are potential targets to this frog and it will try to attack.
  • If another General Frog is nearby attacked (while it is very rare to see 2 General Frog at the same time), the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It has a reach of 3.75 blocks, but will pathfind to 3.5 blocks of its target.
  • Ingame, the General Frog is named boss_soldier_frog.

Grappling Frog

• Spawning
  • The Grappling Frog can spawn in these biomes: BADLANDS, ERODED_BADLANDS and WOODED_BADLANDS, as long as there is a solid block underneath the spawning space. Their spawning is classified under the category “monsters”, while Frogs contribute to the animal mob cap. They can spawn in groups of 1-2 and have a spawning weight of 2.
• Special properties
  • This frog has a range of 9 blocks.
  • It has 2.5 hearts and deals 1 heart of damage.
  • When attacking, all the entities the tongue pierces will get damaged, slowed down and eventually pulled to the Grappling Frog when the tongue returns.
  • Players and Slimes are potential targets to this frog and it will try to attack. This attack can damage multiple entities that are not its target.
  • If another Grappling Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It has a reach of 9 blocks, but will pathfind to 8 blocks.

Growing Frog

• Spawning
  • The Growing Frog can spawn in the biomes: SNOWY_TAIGA, TAIGA, OLD_GROWTH_SPRUCE_TAIGA and OLD_GROWTH_PINE_TAIGA, as long as there is a solid block underneath the spawning space. Their spawning is classified under the category “monsters”, while Frogs contribute to the animal mob cap. They can spawn in groups of 1-2 and have a spawning weight of 3.
  • There is also another way to spawn this frog, when hitting another hostile frog (no General Frog and Tadpole Rocket included) with a splash potion of Improved, a Growing Frog will take its place.
• Special properties
  • This frog grows 1 size everytime they attack an entity.
  • It has 5 hearts and deals 1 heart of damage at size 1.
  • The bigger they get, the more health they have and damage they inflict. Its attack damage is determined by following formula: {size}/2+0.5. Their max healt follows the formula: {size}+9
  • Players and Slimes are potential targets to this frog at size 1 and it will try to attack. From size 6, it will also target all animals, from size 11 all hostile entities are also included.
  • If another Growing Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is. Althoug it can target another Growing Frog if big enough, it will never trigger a group response.
  • It has a reach of 2 blocks, but will pathfind to 1.75 blocks of its target.

Explosive Frog

• Spawning
  • The Explosive Frog can spawn in every biome in the overworld, as long as there is a solid block underneath the spawning space. Their spawning is classified under the category “monsters”, while frogs contribute to the animal mob cap. They can spawn in groups of 1-2 and have a spawning weight of 1.
• Special properties
  • It has 2.5 hearts and deals 9.5 hearts of damage (although this in never used, as the damage is caused by an explosion) by default.
  • Players are targets to this frog and it will try to attack.
  • If another Explosive Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It will pathfind to 3 blocks of the target and will start the explosion animation. After 1 second, it will explode.

Ender Frog

• Spawning
  • The Ender Frog spawns in every biome in the overworld, as long as an enderpearl is thrown.
• Special properties
  • It has 5 hearts and deals 2 hearts of damage by default.
  • If rightclicked with an Address Card, it will teleport to the destination.
  • Players, Slimes and Magma Cubes are potential targets to this frog and it will try to attack.
  • If another Ender Frog is nearby attacked, the frog will target the attacker, no matter what type of mob it is.
  • It has a reach of 2 blocks, but will pathfind to 1.75 blocks of its target.
  • It can teleport every 3 seconds and will teleport to the direct location of their target.
