The Villager Comfort Mod is a simple modification that gives villagers the ability to price their trades in accordance with the level of comfort they enjoy in their daily lives. This is done in an effort to discourage the building of narrow trading halls with no daylight access and no place for villagers to walk around and meet each other. Instead, the player will be rewarded for building a bigger and safer village, which makes villagers comfier and ultimately results in lower trade prices. The level of comfort that villagers have will have an effect on the cost of all of their goods and services, similar to what happens in vanilla when zombies are healed. If a villager is in a state of acute discomfort, the prices they demand may automatically increase to levels that are nearly equivalent to a stack of emeralds. On the other hand, if they are quite at ease, they might reduce the number of emeralds they offer to just a couple. This is something that scales with base costs, which means that even if the initial cost were to be 50 emeralds, it could still go as low as just a couple of emeralds. This behavior can be altered in the settings. It goes without saying that having a place to sleep is one of the first tasks, and in point of fact, a villager will quickly experience pain if they are unable to catch some shut-eye. If a villager is unable to spend at least one minute outside during the course of the day or if they are unable to sleep for numerous nights in a row, their level of comfort will decrease. On the other hand, if a villager goes several days without being harassed by monsters, they will find that they are able to relax and enjoy themselves more and more.
