The game was changed with the Spawn Normalization Mod, which made the spawn selecting element of the game more enjoyable. In Minecraft, before monsters (also known as “mobs”) can be released into the world, the player must first choose a location for them to spawn in. This entails picking an arbitrary x/y position within the confines of a chunk, and then selecting a y-level from within that column. If you were living at y=65 in a skyblock world, there is only a 1 in 66 chance that mobs will actually choose your platform to spawn on. This decreases the likelihood that they will attack you. This implies that you will have to wait longer for mobs to generate, which will ultimately result in a less thrilling experience overall. However, via the use of mathematics, we are able to modify the curves at which particular y-levels are chosen. This mod adds the capability to select a spawn algorithm from a list of defaults, then apply that method in place of the vanilla spawn algorithm. This mod is only compatible with the vanilla version of the game.
