Several vanilla items & blocks now serve as valid furnace fuel. The full list is below. It contains all supported items, burn time & amount of smelted items per 1 unit of fuel item (can be seen with JEI in-game).

- Gunpowder, Any Firework Star - 3 items (600 ticks)
- Flint and Steel, Map - 4 items (800 ticks)
- Blaze Powder - 6 items (1200 ticks)
- Fire Charge - 8 items (1600 ticks)
- Hay Bale, Target 6 items (1200 ticks)
- String, Cobweb, Feather, Arrow - 0.125 items (25 ticks)
- Wheat, Sugar Cane, Rotten Flesh - 0.5 items (100 ticks)
- Paper, Any Banner Pattern, Firework - 0.5 items (100 ticks)
- Lead - 0.25 items (50 ticks)
- Shield - 1.5 items (300 ticks)
