Bird’s Foods Mod adds over 250 new food items to your Minecraft world. All of these new foods can be crafted using only regular vanilla ingredients. This mod gives you many more meal options without adding any new crops or complicated machines.

Bird’s Foods Mod

Features:

Adds a wide variety of meals, including soups, stews, pies, sandwiches, and desserts.
Craft new drinks like juices, teas, and even alcoholic beverages.
Includes plenty of vegetarian and vegan food options.
Discover a new “Well Fed” buff that slows hunger loss after eating a high-quality meal.

Special Food Effects:

Eat “Quality” foods to get a temporary health boost of 4 hearts.
Drink alcoholic beverages to gain helpful buffs like Regeneration or Haste.
Use Palliatives, such as tea, to clear only negative potion effects while keeping your good ones.
Try crafting a Cannibal Sandwich with Rotten Flesh, which is less likely to poison you than eating the flesh alone.

How to Use:

To see all the recipes, it’s best to use a recipe viewer mod like Just Enough Items (JEI).
Make key ingredients like Cheese and Yogurt. Craft them by combining Milk with either Sugar or a Mushroom.
Chop up basic food items by placing them in a crafting window. This lets you use them in new recipes.
Toast sandwiches in a furnace to restore more hunger. Once a sandwich is toasted, you can’t add more ingredients to it.
Create most drinks by crafting one ingredient with an empty bottle.
If you want to make food spicy, try adding Blaze Powder to the recipe.
You can craft a Poisonous Potato from a regular potato and a red mushroom. This can be used to make a Fermented Spider Eye.

Configuration:

This mod has a configuration file where you can change the special food effects. You can adjust or turn off the following bonuses:

The temporary health boost from Quality foods.
Special buffs from alcoholic drinks.
The Palliative effect that clears only bad potion effects.
The Well Fed buff that slows down hunger.

Cheese and Yogurt are frequently used, and are made by crafting Milk with Sugar or a Mushroom
Almost every new recipe is shapeless, unless there is a vanilla precedent or to avoid recipe conflicts
Many basic food items can be chopped up by placing them in a crafting window, which opens up new avenues of crafting
Most drinks are made with one ingredient with a single empty bottle, except Bottles of Milk, which are made with a Milk Bucket and three glass bottles, and alcoholic drinks
If you need to add a bit of spice, try Blaze Powder
Bottles of Milk and Milk Buckets can be used interchangeably in recipes, including for vanilla cake
Yogurt pulls extra duty as mayonnaise and sour cream. Try it in real food too!
