Description:

Project APOC - A Modern Zombie Apocalypse Survival for (1.20.1 Forge).

I spent hours testing every Zombie Apocalypse Modpack out there, and as there are some decent packs they all seem to lack in essential aspects. For example, one pack will be great, as far as immersive mods, like adding hordes, thirst and an infection system but are completely lacking in visual aspects like shader support or a resource pack that compliments the environment. Even tending to bug out from world generation or incompatible configurations ultimately leaving you with a crashed game report, or a half-assed zombie apocalypse modpack (missing on aspects that a hand crafted modpack lacks). I searched for a pack that has had hours sunk into it, to find the best configurations, and compatibilities while creating the most Modern Zombie Apocalypse Experience. So that is exactly what I did. I spent hours launching and testing mods, and their compatibility with other mods and shaders, within the config files, rewriting the way this modpack would function, each detail within every mod and resource pack in this modpack was tested, double checked, then configured to fit the experience that people were looking for and tested again for success. So, after all that work here is APOC, hope y’all enjoy it!

- The World Generation Mods -

I felt world generation mods could only bring the immersive experience so far, where sometimes they unfortunately can limit a modpack by being too much for a world to be loaded in or if it is able to be loaded, there were huge chunk sized holes left in the ground around the cities when generated. So I firstly wanted to allow players to still use this aspect of gamestyle, but I wanted to better it; in all ways. Thanks to the Keerdm's Zombie Apocalypse Essentials mod combined with Lost Cities, I can create a well rounded ruined city for players to explore. Now I didn't want it only to be cities, in fact I wanted the cities to hold a greater danger compared to the surrounding world, nor did I want those cookie cutter neighborhood houses that come with the base generation of the Lost Cities mod. So I added the Abandoned Towers mod, as well as an assortment of  YUNG’s mods like YUNG’s Better Dungeons, YUNG’s Better Mineshafts and the Random Abandoned Structures mod that add a whole new element to the open world survival outside of the cities. These four mods were also paired with two world gen mods, Regions Unexplored and Bleak & Barren, which are world generation mods that aims to add slopier hills and plains for better configuration with city generation, as well as adding a few post apocalyptic biomes to the world.

- APOC Dedicated Word  (Mosslorn) -

Now that's it as far as the word “generation”, yet I didn’t want to leave it at that. I wanted a world that a player could spawn into with friends or as a singleplayer and still not feel limited by the same world generation. I also wanted a world that you could effortlessly explore, survive, and be worthy of building a base. I wanted a story, a purpose for a player to want to log back on and continue their apocalyptic story. I felt this aspect was lacking in many other modpacks. So I spent numerous hours looking for a world that obviously had that zombie apocalypse vibe to it but also captured somewhat of a story through the buildings. Allowing for different parts of the map to have different values. So doing all the hours of searching for a perfect map, I stumbled upon Mosslorn, an absolutely stunning 1000x1000 (chunk) map that checked all the boxes I was looking for, deterioration like vines/ruins, and bigger significant buildings, filled with apocalyptic friendly loot. Play the world now and start your adventure. Download it and play with your friends! If you have any..

[NOTE] Optifine is not needed for shaders thanks to mod forks such as Oculus and Embeddium which can be found in your video settings within the options menu in Minecraft.

-Bliss Shaders, offering realistic light rays, stunning water and sky textures with visual effects and realistic clouds great for a modern zombie apocalypse experience.

-Insanity Shaders is a better performance friendly shader with a dark feel to the world around you, great for the apocalypse.
