If you arent familiar with these little guys, they aren't always quite the nicest things around. Infact, they will porbably want you dead. Things arent safe out there. Not at all. "There are allways things around the next corner"
If you want the more spooky experience, try some of the shaders. If you configure them well, your game will be terrifying.
