Ruthless Frontiers: A Diabolical RPG

COMING SOON IN v2.0:

Ruthless Frontiers is a Diablo-inspired Minecraft RPG modpack built around a complete three-Act campaign. Beginning as a hostile survival journey against a Sculk scourge rising from beneath the Overworld, the campaign gradually expands into faction conflict, political struggle, and the erosion of identity itself.

Across the campaign, you will travel through hostile regions, investigate environmental clues, confront faction patrols, enter dangerous dungeons, and fight bosses drawn from several mods alongside entirely custom encounters. Survival progression, alchemy, exploration, and character growth are all structured around this central journey.

Lush environments remain lush. Arid and broken places become even more worn down. This is a world as beautiful as it is cruel: a world that does not care about you simply because you entered it.

You do not enter the frontier as a force of nature. There are no starter kits that grant you an immediate advantage. You are simply someone trying to survive, grow stronger, and carve out a meaningful existence in a land that will not willingly make room for you.

The modpack is built with restraint. Its focused mod pool is defined as much by what it excludes as by what it includes. Rather than relying on every expected RPG convention, Ruthless Frontiers keeps combat personal, grounded, and recognizably Minecraft-like.

There are no elaborate weapon rotations to memorize and no constant sequence of marked attack zones. Combat is governed by spacing, aggression, commitment, preparation, and an understanding of both yourself and your enemy.

That restraint does not mean a lack of RPG content. The pack’s progression is extensively customized around its campaign, with bespoke quests, faction encounters, environmental storytelling, alchemical preparation, and boss progression supporting each stage of the journey.

Act 1: The Surfacing Scourge

Washing up on shore, you soon realize that a scourge is making its way from the underground. The dead are restless, and those who have yet to decay behave  as if they are. Death and decay permeate the land, and it is up to you to stop it.

Future Content:

Act 2: Twisted Intent

Journeying forward, you come to find that this corruption has not only spread to the surface, but into the hearts of your fellow compatriots. Will you stand against them, emerge as a leader, or prove to be a tyrant?

Act 3: Fragments

As your journey continues, you find it harder to distinguish the line between outside and in, enemy or foe, familiar or foreign. Those around you succumb to this phenomenon, and you fear it might be the end of your journey. Explore what it means to remain whole in the final act of Ruthless Frontiers.
