The author built this one for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. On other versions it may install and then do nothing.

Taproot is a "Golden-Age-Plus" pack that ACTUALLY feels like an Old Version of the Game, Just Expanded.

Many things are removed or reverted back to earlier versions. There's no Hunger, No Netherite, No Enchanting or Villages, No Structures aside from Dungeons, and none of Minecraft's Modern Fixings like Tons of Woodtypes, Modern Stair and Slab Placement, Deepslate, Copper, Shields, all of it is gone in favour of a more compact and clean experience.

Now, this doesn't mean it's simply "Just Beta in a Modern Version". Taproot is like an alternate timeline of the game built from the ground up that takes inspiration from all the eras of the game, not just Beta or Release. It focuses on reimagining the game in a package that feels cozy and nostalgic, but it doesn't blindly stick to that Nostalgia either. Nearly all the textures have been redone or touched up in some way, and it's not afraid to change old features and reimagine newer ones. Instead of Brewing Potions, you make special Alcohols that give you special abilities. Instead of enchantments, there's special tools to take their place.

Notice: This pack is not in any way intended to be a slight at the Reminiscence modpack or it's developer, Bali. The tagline "Taproot is a "Golden-Age-Plus" pack that ACTUALLY feels like an Old Version of the Game" is a critique of the amount of low quality packs coming out in the genre recently. Additionally, the now-removed section detailing failures of a lot of similar packs was meant to reference my own failure with Taproot's predecessor, Nostalgia Squared.

Thank you to members of the community for bringing it to my attention that my wording could be interpreted as hostile.
