Many Shader Packs are extremely dark at the low end of the brightness spectrum, making caves and nighttime environments much harder to navigate, even on maximum brightness.
The gamma hack has been patched since 1.19, which leaves those using OptiFine with limited modding options to increase their in-game brightness beyond the (not-so-bright) maximum.
This Resource Pack adds a custom Overworld lightmap, which increases the brightness in areas that receive little-to-no sunlight, allowing for slightly brighter yet still immersive caves and nighttime environments.
This Resource Pack can be used with or without shaders enabled. No mods required (except OptiFine). See Images for a side-by-side comparison.
'Custom Colors' must be switched on in the Quality settings.
