This raw ore needs to be smelted in a furnace to obtain their useful ingot variant. This two step process of obtaining ingots can be an inconvenience. In the older versions of the game, breaking an ore block directly dropped their ingot. Auto Smelt Mod reverts this change so that you don’t have to waste your time and resources to smelt ores that you have mined.
