The Dark One

Overall:
Create an immortal entity on your server known as 'The Dark One'. The Dark One is a magical entity that any player can become. The idea is based on the show 'Once Upon a Time', and follows the same magical rules and laws as that set out in the show. The Dark One is the most powerful being in all the realms. As a consequence, The Dark One has abilities no other player can acquire.

Dark One Abilities:

• The Dark One is immortal and can not be killed (with the exception listed in 'Dark One Weaknesses')
• The Dark One can See in the Dark.
• The Dark One is naturally faster than most beings (SPEED 2).
• The Dark One is naturally stronger than most beings (STRENGTH 2).

Dark One Weaknesses:

• The Dark One has one weakness: 'The Dark One's Dagger'

The Dark One's Dagger:
The Dark One is tethered to The Dark One's Dagger, an item that can cause damage, and eventually kill, The Dark One. Whoever kills The Dark One with the dagger will become the new server's Dark One. However, whoever holds the dagger may also choose to (as opposed to killing The Dark one) control The Dark One. Holding the dagger in your hand will allow you to enslave The Dark One to your every wish, forcing the entity to do as you please.

• Can control and enslave the Dark One
• Can Kill The Dark One
• Can change which player is The Dark One (whoever uses the item to kill the old Dark One, becomes the new Dark One)

Creating The First Dark One:
The first Dark One on the server is created by throwing the Rose of A Thousand Thorns into the Eternally Burning Bush. Doing so will destroy the rose in a fire, as a result creating all darkness on the server. Whoever threw the rose onto the Eternally Burning Bush will become the first server Dark One, and will be given the Dark One's Dagger upon the Rose of A Thousand Thorns' destruction.


The Rose of A Thousand Thorns:
The rose is useless in all aspects with the exception of creating the server's first Dark One. In addition, upon picking up the rose, it can not be destroyed. Fire, Lava, etc. will fail to destroy the item. The only way to destroy the item is through the Eternally Burning Bush. To create the shrine on your server where players can find and get the Rose of A Thousand Thorns, simply place a cobblestone fence with a carpet on top (To look like a pedestal). Upon doing so, throw a regular rose on top of the carpet, and it will be transformed into the Rose of A Thousand Thorns. The item will remain floating on top of the pedestal until picked up.


The Eternally Burning Bush:
The Eternally Burning Bush serves one purpose: to destroy the Rose of A Thousand Thorns. Doing so, as previously stated, will create the first Dark One and the Dark One's Dagger. Additionally, when the rose is thrown on/around the bush, the rose will burn. To create the server's Eternally Burning Bush, simply place a gold block with a leaf block on top of it.


Commands:

• /darkOne - displays the server's current Dark One
• /setDarkOne [username] - sets the server's current Dark One to whoever ran the command, or if given, to the specified user.
• /getDagger - gives the user a Dark One's Dagger
• /resetDarkOne - clears the server's Dark One. Complete Dark one reset.

Permissions:

• darkOne.admin: Permission to create a Rose of A Thousand Thorns shrine and an Eternally Burning Bush. Permission to use /setDarkOne, /getDagger, /resetDarkOne
• Everyone has permission to use /darkOne

Dependencies:
The plugin relies on 'Slaves' in order to allow whoever holds The Dark One's Dagger the ability to control The Dark One. The plugin can be found here.


Notes:
The plugin purposefully only allows for one Dark One on the server. To use the plugin as intended, only create one shrine for the Rose of A Thousand Thorns. Creating more will allow for the bush to burn multiple roses, resulting in whoever burned their rose first no longer being The Dark One once the second player burns their rose (since the second player will become the server's new Dark One). However, the original Dark One will still have their dagger, resulting in multiple Dark One's Daggers in circulation on the server at a time.
