Fully functional news reader in Minecraft
News is a fully functional news reader in Minecraft. It pulls its stories from the BBC, reputable and well known worldwide news source, and formats them either into chat or into a book. With /news book you will be given a book with all the top stories, a link to an article, and a brief summary. With /news read, you will be fed all the headlines.
How to use
Commands:
- /news read [category] - read all the headlines - permission: news.read
- /news book [category] - get a book with all the stories in more detail - permission: news.book
- /news refresh - refresh the cache for the default category - permission: news.refresh
- /news categories - view all the available categories - permission: news.categories
How it works
News has a custom built-in RSS reader that pulls from the BBC RSS feed. Since the RSS reader is not tailored to any specific news source, additional sources will be added in the future.
