Building Wands Mod (26.1.2, 1.20.1) – Wands for Construction

Building Wands Mod introduces building wands to Minecraft, making large-scale construction much easier. These wands allow players to place blocks from a distance, eliminating the need to struggle with positioning for hard-to-reach areas.

Features:

There are three types of wands:

• Iron Wand – Basic reach.
• Gold Wand – Extended range.
• Diamond Wand – Maximum distance for placing blocks.

Building Modes

• Directional Mode
  • Place a single block in any of 9 directions relative to the targeted block
• Row / Column Mode
  • Place multiple blocks in a straight row or column
  • Press X to switch between row and column orientation
• Fill Mode
  • Fill an area between two selected corners
  • Supports single block type or random blocks
• Area Mode
  • Fill all connected blocks starting from the targeted block
• Grid Mode
  • Place blocks in a fixed 2D grid pattern
  • Change grid size using arrow keys or the in-game GUI
• Line Mode
  • Create a straight line between two selected blocks
• Circle Mode
  • Create a circle using one block as the center and another as the radius
  • Press K to toggle a filled circle (v2)
• Copy Mode
  • Copy blocks between two selected corners
• Paste Mode
  • Paste previously copied blocks
  • Press R to rotate the paste on the Y-axis in 90° steps
• Blast Mode
  • Destroy blocks using an explosion effect
  • In Survival mode, TNT must be present in the inventory

Inventory and Resource Handling

• Shulker Box Support
  • In Survival mode, blocks are consumed from Shulker Boxes first

Block Destruction Rules

• Blocks can be destroyed if a tool is placed inside the wand via its menu
• In Creative mode
  • Any tool can break any block
• In Survival mode
  • The tool must match the block type
  • Examples:
    • Axe for wood and logs
    • Pickaxe for stone and ores

Wand Levels

• Wand limits are configurable in wands.json
• Available tiers:
  • Stone Wand: up to 16 blocks
  • Iron Wand: up to 32 blocks
  • Diamond Wand: up to 64 blocks
  • Netherite Wand: up to 256 blocks

Optional XP Cost

• Block placement can consume experience points
• Configure this in wands.json using blocks_per_xp
• Examples:
  • "blocks_per_xp": 0 disables XP consumption
  • "blocks_per_xp": 2 places 2 blocks per 1 XP
  • "blocks_per_xp": 0.5 costs 2 XP per block
