Fragile Torches Mod (1.21.1, 1.20.1) – Rethink Your Cave Lighting

Fragile Torches Mod makes your torches breakable. When a player or a mob walks through a torch, it can get knocked off the wall. This means you have to be more careful about lighting in narrow tunnels. The mod encourages you to use more stable light sources for your bases.

Features:

• Torches can be knocked over by players and mobs that walk through them.
• Makes returning to caves more dangerous, as hostile mobs can destroy your light sources.
• You can avoid knocking over torches by sneaking past them.
• Encourages using more reliable lights, like lanterns or glowstone, in your buildings.

How to Use:

1. Place torches to light up an area as you normally would.
2. Be careful when you or other mobs walk through the space where the torch is.
3. To safely pass a torch without breaking it, hold the sneak key.

Configuration:

This mod allows for customization through its data files:

• Fragile Blocks: You can change which blocks are breakable. By default, this is set to torches, but you can add other blocks you can walk through.
• Gentle Mobs: There is a list of mobs that will never knock over torches. This list includes players, villagers, cats, bats, and others by default.
