Dolt Mod How

This mod changes other mods for my modpack, but has since been optimized for public consumption if you want to use it. Check out the gallery for images. All sufficiently disruptive features are configurable. If a feature you want to turn off isn't, shoot me a github message.

Requires farmer's delight, quark, and supplementaries. Has supports for, but loads without: Alexander Caverns, Amendments, Atmospheric, Brewin and Chewin, Blasted Barrens, Cave Delight, Caverns & Chasms, Clayworks, Create, Doom & Gloom, Dungeon's Delight, Dye Depot, Emi, Environmental, Etcetera, From the Ground Up, Jaden's Nether Expansion, Melancholic Hunger, Mowzie's Mobs, My Nether's Delight, Neapolitan, Opposing Force, Oreganized, Savage and Ravage, Spawn, Species, Upgrade Aquatic, Wilder Flowers, Windswept, and Woodworks.

Every feature in Dolt Mod How runs in O(1). Please download it.

Vanilla

• Having monsters nearby or being far away from your bed will no longer prevent you from sleeping

• Decreased Fall Damage

  • New damage is floor(old * (2/3)). 4 damage becomes 2 damage, et cetera.
  • Configurable.

• Added a 3x3 storage block for Honeycomb. Thanks vanilla unused textures

• Replaceables

  • Carpet-like flowers are now replaceable: this includes Pink Petals, Yellow Petals (Windswept), Tropical Wildflowers (Spawn), all wildflowers (Wilder Flowers).
  • Moss Carpet, Dry moss carpet (Windswept), Alphacene Moss Carpet (Species) and red algae carpets (Spawn) are now also replaceable.

• Added the ability to lock an recovery compass to a death by right clicking. That recovery compass will always point towards the location of particular death no matter how many time you die after. Right click a locked recovery compass to unlock it.

• Crossbows have custom textures depending on the arrow that's in them. There is support for (C&C) blunt arrow, silver arrow, ricochet arrow, (Neapolitan) bananarrow, (Vanilla) Spectral Arrow, (JNE) Phasmo Arrow, (Alex's Caves) seeking arrow, burrowing arrow, (Quark) Torch arrow, (S&R) Mischief Arrow

• Made all bookshelves and chiseled bookshelves added by woodworks drop themselves when broken. This be disabled in the config.

• When you take an item from Flower Pots, Book Piles, and other supplementaries blocks, the item will try to merge with existing stacks in your inventory instead of being forced into your main hand. Also works with Hanging Signs if Amendments is installed.

• Effects given to you by beacons now no longer create particles around the player

• XP

  • Crops now drop XP. You can configure the xp amount. Defaults from 0 to 1, averaging 0.5 xp per crop.
  • Iron, gold, copper, Silver ore from caverns and chasms, jade ore from sully's mod, oreganized lead ore will all drop xp now. More ores can be added in the block tags #dolt_mod_how:common_ores and #dolt_mod_how:rare_ores.
  • Placing a block now has a 1 in 64 chance to award 3-7 xp.

• If a lightning bolt strikes a jukebox playing a music disc underground, it will spawn the Ward disc inside. Specific disc can be customized in the config. Yay!

• Make note blocks play when the block above them is not a full block (instead of requiring air)

• You can now un-till farmland by sneak-clicking a hoe on them. Also works with rich soil farmland. I disabled trampling in my modpack, so this is in case you want to get rid of farmland without breaking them.

• Having ANY kind of protection enchant (fire prot, blast prot, proj prot) at LEVEL 3 OR MORE will also give protection against ALL DAMAGE SOURCES equivalent to Vanilla Protection I.

• Feather falling is omegabuffed. It now prevents twice the amount of damage. (NEEDS TESTING)

• Dispensers

  • Dispensers can now use cauldrons. Any interactions with cauldrons will work, including undying leather armor, milkshakes from neapolitan, golden buckets, all that good stuff.
  • Dispensers can dye sheep and ignite creepers with a flint and steel.

• A sound will now play when placing down boats and minecarts, for qol.

• Player make sound when chomp cake and also Dinosaur Chops

• Placing and removing a flower from a flower pot now play a sound.

• Disables the end poem.

• Changes to Brewing Stands:

  • Brewing no longer requires fuel.
  • Awkward potions are removed. Every recipe made using an awkward potion now requires a normal water bottle.

• Added a tag #dolt_mod_how:cocoa_beans_additionally_plantable_on, because why not.

Misc Additions

• The Chorus Soda has been added. It teleports the user exactly 10 blocks above when used. This has various applications.

• Added the dolt_mod_how:drop_self loot modifier, which makes all affected blocks drop themselves.

• Added the dolt_mod_how:trichotomy loot condition, which has three fields: "block", "blockTag", and "exclude".

  • The condition will target a block if it in the "block" list or in any block tags specified in the "blockTag" list, unless it is also in the "exclude" list.
  • You can find an example here (exclude not pictured.)

• New dolt_mod_how:luck loot modifier. Making a datapack with this loot modifier (like this) will make the game put more items in your chests when you have luck and remove some items in your chests when you have bad luck. Also, if you open chests with Bad Luck, there's a chance for the 13 disc to show up. If you have Buzzier Bees installed and you open a chest with good luck, there's a chance to get a four leaf clover item, faciliating even better luck.

  • THIS DOES NOTHING ON ITS OWN AND YOU MUST ADD THE LOOT MODIFIER YOURSELF. ALSO THIS MOD DOESNT ADD ANY NEW WAY TO GET LUCK NATIVELY AND YOU MUST HAVE A MOD THAT MAKES THE LUCK STATS OBTAINABLE (like buzzier bees)

• NEW POTIONS!!

  • The Potion of MIMING is brewed with zirconia, or sculk when C&C is not installed. It is an instantaneous effect like instant health. When drank it copies a random the effect of the entity closest to you
  • Miming II, brewed with glowstone dust, will copy every effect
  • The potion of GENEROSITY is brewed by inverting miming with a fermented spider eye. Generosity I will give one of your active effects to the closest entity to near you
  • Generosity II will instead give every effect.
  • This was been inspired (directly copied from) the old Mint and Adzuki milkshakes from Neapolitan, which were really really fun but has since been reworked. Now i learnt to mod and they are back.

• A FUCK TON OF NEW ADVANCEMENTS (Thank you my bestie Poulpo for coming with some of the ideas)
  • THUNDERDOME (requires C&C): "Kill 3 mimes back to back after they've copied your armor
  • "Applied Quotient Topology" (C&C): Travel at least 1000 blocks with the power of a Rewind Potion
  • "Not Endorsed" (Brewin Chewin): Operate a mount while being more than a fair bit tipsy
  • "Graze the Roof" (Mowzies mobs): Have a Foliaath eat a zombie at the build limit
  • "One Must Imagine Mime Happy" (C&C): Attempt to kill a Mime while holding a Totem of Undying
  • "Richter Spawner" (Species): Have a Quake kill a Charged Creeper
  • "Afterlife Jazz" (Doom and Gloom): "Have a Holler possess a jukebox
  • "Nuclear Fusion Redux" (Alex's Caves): Obliterate a Nucleeper with a beam of pure radioactivity
  • "It's dead! DEAD!!!" (Spawn): Channel lightning through a stickbug in the rain
  • "Fish Out of Water" (Upgrade Aquatic): Bring a Great Thrasher to the Nether
  • "Big Game Hunter" (Species): Slay a Bewereager using a crankbow and silver arrows
  • "Speed Demon" (Oreganized): Record up to 30 meters per second on a speedometer
  • "Heart of Glass" (Heart Crystals): Use a Heart Crystal while on half a heart.

Amendments

• Make amendments double cakes cut to slices and drop slices when broken (fixes this bug)

Alexander Caverns

• Vallumraptors fail when they try to steal from chests protected by a spawn octopus.

• Submarines built by the player will now try to match the oxidation level and waxedness of the copper blocks that were used to build it

• If C&C is installed, the copper ingots dropped by the submarine when it gets destroyed will match the oxidation level and waxedness of the submarine

• Repairing a submarine now creates the copper golem caverns chasms repair sounds

• Added a 3x3 storage block for pine nuts

• Acid no longer corrodes copper

• Biome Treats work even if the player is not starving

• Marine Snow can no longer duplicate vanilla sponges but can duplicate ping pong sponges

• Marine Snow is now much more flexible and can now resuscitate all modded corals

• Biome Crucibles can only replace stone, dirt and sand

• Muck is now renewable. If a mud block (like from vanilla mangrove swamps) is placed in an Abyssal Chasm biome under y=-16 and has 20 blocks of solid water above it, it will slowly transform into muck block.

• You can now scrape rust off scrap metal from alex's caves with an axe

• Added Pewen/Thornwood Woodset for Woodworks Compat, Check out The Offical Datapack to add these to the AC structures.

• Cycads can now be placed on sand

• A uranium rod is now good for smelting 20 stacks of items in a nuclear furnace (up from 1 stack).

Brewin' and Chewin'

• Fiery Fondue Pots now comes with 4 servings instead of 3.

• You can now throw a Brewin and Chewin tankard like a snowball if you have the tipsy effect. It deals a little bit of damage, but not much.

• Added tequila. Made with Atmospheric agave. It gives you persistence (from atmospheric).

• Coaster tweaks

  • After you take last item out of an invisible coaster, the block will remain placed there, invisible, for five seconds, in case you accidentally right clicked and want to place the item back.
  • Coaster will handle items renamed on an anvil as item frames do; a nameplate will be rendered above them when you look at an item on a coaster with a custom display name. This took me a really long time you should appreciate it.

Cave's Delight

• You can now slice an Alex's Caves dinosaur chop to get dino cut items

Caverns and Chasms

• Zinc plated bricks compat caverns and chasms & create compat (THANK YOU DANIMODDER FOR TEXTURES!!)

• Golden Bucket support for modded liquids, currently (Oreganized) Lead, (Alex's Caves) Acid, Purple Soda, (JNE) ectoplasm

• Added ancient braziers as Caverns Chasms and Jaden's Nether Expansion compat. Thank you Lucy for the texture!

• If you have a mod that makes tether potions stack to 64 or 100 or whatever stack size, you won't be able to put 100 of them on your helmet slot at once anymore

• Added HEART CRYSTAL LAMPS in compat with HEART CRYSTALS and caverns and chasms. Thank you CRAFTY for the texture!

• Packing containers can now hold 8 stacks of items--- but you can choose how much items a stack is by setting the config (this is for modpacks that change their default stack size, like mine, don't touch it otherwise)

Dungeon's Delight

• Wardenzola is made into a cheese wheel a la brewingandchewing. It is placeable and has a new wedge item.

• Added the disabled-by-default Ballistic enchantment. If Dungeon's Delight is installed, this can be applied to knives (and desolate daggers) give them Dungeon's Delight's cleaver throwing behavior. This is intended to be used when the player removes cleavers from their modpack but still wants the throwing behavior because it's kind of peak.

  • Ballistic has three levels. Ballistic I enables knife throwing. Further levels applies adds the Serrated enchant level minus one (Ballistic III is equal to Serrated II).
  • Thrown knives will be light mobs on fire they have the fire aspect enchantment.
  • Ballistic Desolate Daggers that hit a mob will also summon a little floating dagger thing.
  • NOTE: In the video below, the Netherite Knife rename & texture change is NOT INCLUDED IN THIS MOD! It is a feature from my modpack.

• Removes the monster rarity

EMI

• The Craftables sidebar now properly detect items in your Quark Backpack. (this is didn't happen before and was very annoying)

• 

• Attempt to unbloat the emi page

  • Enchanted books that aren't the max level will be removed from the Emi index
  • Potion variants such as but not limited to splash, subtle, long, strong, C&C trail, tether, impact potions, and nirvana bongs, and bamboo spikes, have all been hidden EXCEPT the Water version of that potion, which is preserved to give you their recipe
    • This seems a little much but does shave like 10 pages from EMI in my modpack, so i'll take it

Environmental

• New slabfish. Supported biomes:

  • Each Alex's Caves biomes, including Forlorn Hollows, Toxic Caves, Magnetic Caves, Candy Cavity, Primordial Caves, and Magnetic Caves
  • Spawn Seagrass Meadows and Ant Gardens, more is WIP
  • Blasted Barrens, from Blasted Barrens.

• Disable environmental's pink petals mixin because it's bad

Etcetera

• Destroying Alex's Caves waste drums with prickly cans will make it explode.

Farmer's Delight

• Knives can no longer receive efficiency or silk touch from the enchanting table.

• Ropes can now extend into fluids that are not water.

• Glowsroom Colonies are added, as integration for quark's glimmering wealds. Colonies for Biome o' Plenty mods also exist.

• New Mulch Bag as a 3x3 storage block for Tree Bark.

From the Ground Up

• This mod

• If you naively add Charged Creepers as a natural spawn with a Forge Biome Modifier, it will automatically:

  • Spawn only on thunderstorms
  • Spawn only when when there are no charged creepers in a 200 block radius
  • This option must be enabled in the config and does nothing on its own. Modpack devs must then add the charged creeper spawns themselves.

• The Charged Creeper's Spore Rocket attack will spawn a Savage and Ravage Spore Cloud.

Heart Crystals

• Added config to make HEART CRYSTALS from HEART CRYSTALS give you health boost and regeneration instead of extra hearts.

Jaden's Nether Expansion

• Bones from vanilla are now a block item for Bone Rods

Melancholic Hunger

• I removed hunger from my modpack with MELANCHOLIC HUNGER! Here's some tweaks that you can use. (Disabled by Default)
  • Having the hunger effect now stops you from sprinting
  • The food tooltip added by Quark's Improved Tooltip module now render hearts instead of chicken shanks; you can disable the saturation message in the config
  • changed food value of every item. new food values are a function of old food value. The function ismax(1, newNut - 2)
  • the persistence effect from atmospheric will scale based on your health instead of your hunger.
  • If you eat a Strawberry item from Neapolitan, you will be healed instantly instead of gradually.


Mowzie's Mobs

• Added (Atmospheric) arid and red arid raked sand and (Blasted Barrens) Ashen raked sand.

My Nether's Delight

• Fungus colonies from Nether's Delight now grow on rich soil instead of on rich soul soil. This is done so I can remove rich soul soil from my modpack.

• Ghasta with Cream no longer regenerates, i've reworked this into a normal feast in my modpack

Neapolitan

• Getting a neapolitan banana peel into a composter now makes it compost. Yay!

Openloader

• If you have the Openloader mod installed and it's annoyingly decided to load its datapacks with lower priority than a mod you've added, run /datapack sort to give all openloader datapacks top priority again

Opposing Force

• The Terror Chainsaw can no longer do Tree Chopping

Quark

• Quark pipes can now be encased in stained glass of all colors, including Dye Depot ones.

• Sturdy Deepslate, a 3x3 storage block for of cobbled deepslate, has been added. Like quark sturdy stones, these can't be pushed around by pistons.

• Made beachgrass and tall beachgrass (upgrade aquatic) pottable. (FD) Onions, cabbage, and tomatoes, (neapolitan) strawberry pips too. Arid Sprout (atmospheric) and mycelium sprouts (environmental) are also pottable.

• If Alex's Caves is installed, Pathfinder Quills will now make a based Alex's Caves cave map that labels all the biomes and works in the nether.

• Vanilla capes no longer render if you are wearing a quark backpack. More can be added in a tag

• Quark posts can now connect to hedges

Species

• Alphacene grass path and Alphacene Salad for Species compat. Alphacene salad gives regeneration for 5 seconds when eaten :3

• Made hopelights species function like frogmist from JNE. They have no hitbox unless you are holding a hopelight item or any hoe.

Supplementaries

• Processing a supplementaries quiver using a FD cutting board will now drop all of its arrows onto the ground as well. A cutting recipe for quivers has been added.

• Using a soap on a caverns and chasms toolbox will no longer clear the soap within it.

Windswept

• Added an option, disabled by default, to make gingerbread men drop Windswept gingerbread cookies instead of gingerbread crumbs

Woodworks

• Made all sawmill recipes stonecutter recipes (disabled by default!!)

To get everything out of this mod, I expect players to have a working knowledge of Datapacks and to be proficient in a modpack scripting tool such as CraftTweaker or KubeJS.
