Beyond just crafting shields from different materials-each offering unique defensive stats-the mod also adds two new defensive mechanics: Off-Guard Cooldown and Parrying.
Features:
Off-Guard Cooldown
- Allows players to block enemy strikes with their shield but introduces a cooldown period after blocking, preventing instant reuse. This forces players to switch to offense after defending. The cooldown time depends on the shield material-Netherite shields recover the fastest, while wooden shields take the longest.
Parrying
- Enables players to block an attack by raising the shield before impact, pushing the attacker backward.
- Parrying with wood or gold shields inflicts minor damage on the enemy.
- Parrying with iron, diamond, or Netherite shields not only causes damage but also reflects part of the incoming attack back at the enemy.
- Additionally, parrying ignores cooldown restrictions and allows players to block projectiles.
