Combat Nouveau Mod is a Minecraft mod that introduces experimental mechanics inspired by Mojang’s prototype combat snapshots. It adds nuance and challenge to gameplay-but everything’s fully customizable in the in-game config menu, so you can tailor the experience to your liking.

• Hotbar Switching no longer triggers attack cooldown.
• Missed Swings don’t reset cooldown (disabled by default).
• Uncharged Attacks can be disabled for cleaner combat.
• Hold-to-Attack option allows continuous attacks (disabled by default).
• Extended Reach: Swords, hoes, and tridents have increased attack distance.
• Larger Hitboxes: Small mobs like fish, rabbits, silverfish, and babies now have at least a 0.9 block hitbox.
• Shield Knockback Fix: Shields now properly knock back attackers.
• Improved Stack Sizes: Snowballs, eggs, and potions stack higher.
• Faster Drinking: Potions, milk, and bottled fluids consume much faster.
• Throw Delay Added: Slight delay added when throwing eggs and snowballs.
• Eating Interruptions: Being attacked interrupts eating and drinking.
• Instant Shield Activation: Shields activate instantly upon equipping.
• Wider Block Radius: Shields block in a 100° arc.
• No Invulnerability Window: Damaged players no longer get brief immunity frames.
• Sprint Persistence: Sprinting continues even after hitting a target.
• Passive Hand Hiding: Items like Totems of Undying can be hidden if held passively in the offhand.
• Shield Indicator: A visual cooldown bar displays when blocking with shields.
