Beds are no longer safe

(at least at full moons and new moons)

Whenever you go to sleep during a full moon or a new moon, there is a chance that Bedlam will appear. This isn't just jumpscare, this creature is fast, brutal, and specifically designed to punish careless sleeping.

With this mod installed, nighttime becomes a real decision: Sleep in a bed and risk facing a deadly enemy. Or stay awake, fighting weaker but numerous enemies until dawn.

Compatibility

Dye Depot - All colors of beds and everything that should work with it works! Be aware that this mod uses mixins, this may contain incompatibilities with other mods.

Mechanics:

Spoiler

• Spawns when player sleeps on bed during Full Moon or New Moon with a 50% chance.

• When spawning, stands up with the player on top and throws the player forward if there is no block above it.

• Changes vanilla bed behavior, players cannot sleep if there is any block above the bed.

• Takes increased damage from axes and fire.

• Crouches when there is no empty space above its head.

• Can break wooden doors.

• Does not drown in water.

• Afraid of fire.

• Cannot ride minecarts or boats.

• Immune to all status effects.

• Disappears during daytime or when the player dies.

• After Bedlam dies or disappears, the player’s bed is restored to its original state.

• This mod is being developed for 1.20.1 Forge. Ports and other loaders support are NOT planned.

Can I use The Sham in a modpack or other content?

• Yeah! Just don't forget to properly credit us.
