SkinTLS
Mod that forces Minecraft to load player skins and Mojang-hosted capes over HTTPS for secure and reliable texture fetching.
⬇ Download on ModrinthFix Mojang Skins over HTTPS
Tired of broken skins or errors when loading player textures? This mod fixes the issue by forcing all Minecraft skin requests to use HTTPS instead of plain HTTP.
Features
- Works with the vanilla skin system and any mods that rely on Mojang’s
textures.minecraft.netCDN. - Automatically rewrites insecure HTTP requests to HTTPS — no extra setup required.
- Keeps your game future-proof, since modern servers and networks often block or break HTTP traffic.
Why you need this
Some environments and mods break when Minecraft tries to fetch textures over HTTP. With this mod installed, skins (and Mojang-hosted capes) will always load securely, in every mod that uses the standard texture downloader.
Compatibility
- Compatible with all skin and cosmetic mods that rely on the vanilla downloader.
- Fixes incorrect skin loading in Essential by patching the underlying Mojang request system.
- Does not interfere with custom external CDN mods (OptiFine, CustomSkinLoader, etc.).
