Librarian's Balance Mod (26.1.2, 1.20.1) – Rebalances Librarian Trades

Obtaining certain armor, weapon and tool enchantments can make a player extremely powerful. Enchantments like mending will allow players to have items forever, as the enchantment allows them to repair any item using XP. Some of the best enchantment books in the game are via trading with a librarian villager. A major imbalance in the game occurs due to players being able to repeatedly break and place lecterns to reset the trades of a villager. This mechanic essentially allows players to obtain favorable trades from a villager with not much effort. Librarian’s Balance Mod is here to add some balance to the game by tweaking some of these mechanics. The tweaks are listed below.

Features:

• Limits Random Trades: Enchantment books traded by librarian’s now have a maximum level cap of three. This means to obtain enchantment books of level four or more, players will have to obtain multiple level three books. Combine two level three books in an anvil to obtain a level four book.
• Rare Mending: Meding is arguably one of the best enchantments in the game. This mod makes it so that librarian’s will no longer trade mending enchantment books by default. You first have to find them in treasure chests. Once you find one mending book, you can place them on a lectern to unlock trading for more mending books from librarians.
• Customisable Trades: Place an Enchanted Book on a Librarian’s Lectern, and their first or second book trade will change to the one you entered. This gives new purpose to the books you collect in the world.
