CinemaScope

CinemaScope is a simple client-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 that draws cinematic black bars (letterbox) in-game.

Features

• Draws black bars while in-world (including GUI screens like inventory/chat, behind UI)
• Toggle visibility with a keybind (default: K)
• ModMenu config screen support
• Persistent config via JSON

Build

gradle clean build

Output jar is generated under build/libs/.

Config (ModMenu)

Open ModMenu -> Cinema Scope -> Configure and edit:

• Enabled
• Toggle Key
• Target Aspect Ratio (1.60 to 3.00)
• Bar Opacity (0 to 100)
• Show While HUD Hidden (F1)

Buttons:

• Cancel (left)
• Reset (center, restore defaults on the screen)
• Done (right, save and close)

Default Values

• Enabled: true
• Toggle Key: K
• Target Aspect Ratio: 2.39
• Bar Opacity: 100
• Show While HUD Hidden (F1): true

Internal runtime toggle state is persisted and restored across restarts.

If the file is corrupted on load, it is backed up as:

• config/cinema_scope.json.bak
