What is Factions?
Factions is a famous guild pvp manager created in early 2011 by the Massivecraft team. See here for more information.

What is FactionsOne?
In 2013, the plugin has been recoded from scratch. Factions 2.x was born, which has many changes and more features. Unfortunately, the rewrite caused some side effects as well: Many server owners consider Factions 2.x to be "junk" crowded and too complex. It depends on another library plugin called mCore and it doesn't work with many different Bukkit versions. Old Factions 1.x was easy to understand, standalone and stable at every finished Bukkit implementation and Minecraft versions from 1.3.2 to 1.8. The UUID update 1.7.6 caused that user data is lost when a player changes his name, but fortunately, drtshock updated Factions 1.6.9.5 to support UUIDs. externo6 applied this update to Factions 1.8.2, which is the last version of Factions 1.x.

When the SpigotMC team updated Bukkit to 1.8.3, they changed the internal position of Google's GSON library. externo6's version hasn't been updated to find it at the new position, so we decided to do that ourselves.

To answer the question: FactionsOne is Factions 1.8.2 with UUID support for CraftBukkit 1.8.3 and higher.

Features

• Let your users team up in Factions, claim their land and fight each other!
• Claimed land is protected. Faction leaders can configure who can build and who cannot do so.
• Factions have a useful, but easily understandable rank system: Leaders can set officers, members and recruits.
• Factions can interact with each other. There are alliances and declarations of truce or war.
• Many different permissions and configurations allow the admin best control.
• Vault integration allows banks per faction, prices for creations, chunk claims, alliances and much more.
• There are many addons available: FactionsPlus, FactionMobs

Why is it better than Factions 2.x?

• Standalone: No mCore required!
• Not crowded with too many features; easier for both users and admins.

Why is it better than Factions 1.6.9.5?

• Features like truce, recruits and per faction permission setup.
• FactionsUUID 1.6.9.5 is a premium resource, this one is free.

How to use FactionsOne
We are currently creating a completely new wiki. We'll add a detailed German and English documentation for users and server admins. The developer's guide will be available only in English.

Factions data
Data of older Factions versions should be migrated automatically. There's no converter for data of Factions 2.

Upcoming features?
None, I will not add anything to FactionsOne. The goal I want to achieve is nothing but to keep Factions 1.8.2 working with latest Minecraft versions. Of course, I will fix bugs as long as I'm able to do so.
