Keep On Chance (keepinventory)

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Forge only.

⬇ Download for 1.20.6–1.21.4⬇ Download for 1.20.1–1.20.4⬇ Download for 1.19.2–1.19.4
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Is player's item loss on death always a good award. For people that like survival experience and keepinventory this is a balance of both. With rolled chance an inventory can be prevented from being lost. This mod is designed for giving a more balanced and customizable death penalty without fully disabling item loss.

Config "chance", "messages", "creative":

>...

There is a config json file inside config/ called keepchance.json, it has default values set like this:
{"chance":0.41,"messages":true,"isCreativeModeIncluded":true}

"chance" will roll a chance to keep player's inventory on death, 0.41 means that it has 41% chance to succeed. It can go in ranges 0.01 - 1.0.

"messages" will display custom messages upon player's death if chance succeeds, only player that triggered event can see a message, no one else can. These messages can be enabled or disabled with true or false.

"isCreativeModeIncluded" tells if player is in creative mode and then decides if that player's inventory should have a chance to be kept. Configured with true to allow keepinventory chance and false to disallow.
