Improved Snowfall is a lightweight visual overhaul for Minecraft snow weather. It replaces the default snowfall streaks with custom crystal snowflakes that fall more naturally, drift in the wind, and briefly settle on surfaces before fading out.
The goal of the mod is simple: make snowy weather feel calmer, denser, and more believable while keeping the effect lightweight and compatible with normal gameplay.
Features
- Replaces vanilla snow weather streaks with custom crystal snowflake particles
- Adds slower, more natural falling motion
- Includes subtle wind drift, swirl, and variation in movement
- Uses less uniform spawn patterns for a more realistic snowfall effect
- Snowflakes can lightly react to player movement
- Snowflakes briefly settle on blocks and the player before fully fading out
- Designed to remain lightweight and visually immersive
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.11
- Fabric
- Forge
- Client-side required
- Server-side optional
Notes
Improved Snowfall is a visual enhancement mod and does not change gameplay mechanics. It is safe to include in modpacks and can also be present on a server, though the main effect is rendered on the client.
