Reassurance Bucket

This mod adds the Reassurance Bucket from The Stanley Parable to Minecraft. It is an item. You hold it in your hand. That is all you need to do.

The Narrator

The moment the Bucket enters your hand, the narrator wakes up. He has been waiting. He will speak through a custom font in your action bar, accompanied by a sound that suggests he is very serious about what he is about to say.

He has written over 427 lines. About you. About where you are standing. About what is in your inventory. About your decisions. About the absence of decisions. He notices when you stand still too long. He marks every minute, ten minutes, hour, day of holding. He is always talking. You are always listening.

Events

The Bucket does not only talk. It acts.

Hold it long enough and things begin to happen. Not immediately. Not predictably. But inevitably. Events range from pleasant to things you are better off not knowing about in advance. Some affect only you. Some affect everyone on the server.

The Bucket considers all of this completely reasonable.

Atmosphere

Sometimes things go wrong. The Bucket calls these "moments of heightened atmospheric engagement." Play with sound on.

The Pedestal

When you first join a world, a pedestal appears near you with the Bucket waiting on top. It was there. It was always going to be there. Pick it up.

Adventure Line™

Sometimes a line appears on the ground leading somewhere. The Bucket recommends following it. The Bucket does not guarantee results. But it is very hopeful.

Other Buckets

The Bucket is aware that other buckets exist. It does not approve. Every bucket in your inventory earns its own dedicated comment. The milk bucket reaction is the most personal. We will not spoil it here.
