Discrete Names
A simple mod to show player's name (and pronouns!) below cursor instead of using nametag, for roleplay-oriented games
⬇ Download on Modrinth⚠️ This mod is a small project for some friends, and I will not look into maintaining it on a daily-basis. Suggestions are welcome, but do not expect fast responses.
What is it
Discrete Names is a simple mod that remove nametags and make it so that names are displayed below the cursor when you're targeting a player. The mod also allows players to define the pronouns they are using.

This mod is intended for small roleplay-oriented games where nametags are usually removed.
Command
You can use the /pronouns set command to define pronouns. You can also remove them by using /pronouns reset.
Configuration
The configuration is driven with MidnightLib.
By default, the range to show names is set to 4 blocks and can be configured from 1 to 32 blocks.
By default, nametags are still rendered when in creative and spectator, you can disable this behavior in the configuration menu.
Credits
The original idea come from RAT's WATHE mod that implement this functionality in their minigame.
