🎨 kii's Dye Vat
Tired of manually dyeing blocks in the crafting grid? Annoyed by leftover dyes or colored blocks cluttering your chests? Exhausted from the tedious chore of placing and breaking concrete powder in water just to get solid blocks?
This builder-focused mod aims to solve all these issues by adding dedicated Dye Vat machine for efficient block dyeing, introduces 16 new functional Dye Blocks, and overhauls how you process concrete.
📦 Features
🛢️ The Dye Vat- Dedicated Dyeing Machine: A new functional block used specifically for coloring items.
- Bulk Processing: Place your dye and your input blocks into the custom UI to seamlessly process stacks of materials.
- Broad Compatibility: Supports dyeing Vanilla Wool, Carpets, Glass, Glass Panes, Terracotta, Candles, and Beds using standard Forge dye tags.
- Automation Ready: The Dye Vat supports hoppers for automated dyeing! Bottom hoppers take out dyed items, top hoppers feed the dye slot, and side hoppers feed the input slot!
- Dynamic Texture: The Dye Vat will dynamically change its water color depending on the dye currently being used!
- Concentrated Color: Craft standard dyes into solid Dye Blocks for efficient storage or colorful building!
- Vat Integration: Dye Blocks can be placed directly into the Dye Vat's dye slot to process materials without getting consumed.
- Custom Physics: Dye Blocks share sliding physics with Honey Blocks! Use them for safely descending or moving items without having to stick to one color.
- Raw Concrete Powder: A brand new, neutral-colored falling block that can be used directly for dyeing.
- Direct Dyeing: Process Raw Concrete Powder in the Dye Vat with any dye to instantly create colored Concrete.
- Easy Solidifying: Place vanilla colored Concrete Powder into the Dye Vat with no dye to safely solidify it into standard Concrete without needing to place it in water and mine it back up!

🧩 Compatibility & Modpack Makers
The mod uses a completely custom recipe type (kiidyevat:vat_dyeing).
- Data-Driven: Modpack makers can easily add new Dye Vat recipes using standard JSON files to support modded blocks or create custom dyeing pipelines.
- Tag Support: All base dyeing recipes use the
forge:dyestags, meaning modded dyes should work perfectly inside the Dye Vat without any extra configuration.
🚧 Planned Features
Features currently being considered or planned for future updates:
- Compatibility with newer Forge versions and Fabric port.
- Compatibility with more dyeable items such as Shulker Boxes.
