ProphVision
ProphVision is a lightweight night-vision plugin for your Minecraft server. Toggle night vision on or off for yourself or any online player with a single command. It's permission-aware and cleans up after itself — night vision is automatically removed when a player logs off, or the instant a player loses the permission that grants it.
Features
The base command is /nv. All commands are also usable from the server console where noted.
Command Description Console
/nv Toggles night vision on or off for yourself. No
/nv <player> Toggles night vision on or off for the specified online player. Yes
/nv reload Reloads the plugin. Yes
Usage notes
Permission Description Default
prophvision.use Allows a player to have night vision and toggle it on themselves. op
prophvision.others Allows toggling night vision on other players via /nv <player>. op
prophvision.reload Allows use of /nv reload. op
Permission-based auto-removal
ProphVision continuously respects permissions. If a player who currently has night vision loses the permission that grants it — for example, if their group changes or a permission is revoked — night vision is automatically turned off for them. Players can never keep an effect they're no longer allowed to have.
Automatic behavior
ProphVision manages the night-vision effect for you so you never have to clean it up manually:
Configuration
ProphVision generates a config.yml in its plugin folder (plugins/ProphVision/config.yml) on first run. You can edit this file to customize all player-facing messages — including the chat prefix and the text shown when night vision is toggled, when a command fails, and more.
What you can customize
Frequently asked questions
Does night vision stay on after I log out? No. It is automatically removed when you leave the server. Log back in and toggle it on again if you want it.
Can I give another player night vision? Yes — use /nv <player> (requires the prophvision.others permission). The target must be online.
What happens if a player loses their permission while night vision is active? It's turned off for them immediately.
Can I change the plugin's messages or prefix? Yes. Edit config.yml in the plugin folder to customize the prefix and all messages, then run /nv reload to apply.
Do I need to restart the server after making changes? No. Use /nv reload to refresh the plugin and reload config.yml without a full restart.

It's permission-aware and cleans up after itself — night vision is automatically removed when a player logs off, or the instant a player loses the permission that grants it.
Features
- One-command toggle — turn night vision on or off for yourself or another player.
- Permission-aware — night vision is tied to a permission node and revoked automatically the moment that permission is lost.
- Auto-cleanup on logout — when a player leaves the server, their night vision effect is cleared so it never lingers or leaks into other sessions.
- Live reload — reload the plugin's configuration and state without restarting the server.
- No dependencies — drop-in and go.
- Download the latest ProphVision.jar.
- Place the file in your server's plugins/ directory.
- Restart the server (or load the plugin with your plugin manager).
- ProphVision is ready to use — no additional setup required.

Usage notes
- Running /nv with no arguments toggles your own night vision. If it's off, it turns on; if it's on, it turns off.
- /nv <player> targets another online player. The player name must match an online player.
- /nv reload re-reads the plugin and refreshes its state. Use this after making changes rather than restarting the whole server.

Automatic behavior
ProphVision manages the night-vision effect for you so you never have to clean it up manually:
- On logout — when a player disconnects from the server, their night vision is automatically removed. It will not persist into their next session unless re-applied.
- On permission loss — if a player loses the permission required for night vision, the effect is removed immediately.
Configuration
ProphVision generates a config.yml in its plugin folder (plugins/ProphVision/config.yml) on first run. You can edit this file to customize all player-facing messages — including the chat prefix and the text shown when night vision is toggled, when a command fails, and more.
What you can customize
- Prefix — the tag shown at the start of the plugin's messages (for example, &e[ProphVision] ).
- Messages — the text for every response the plugin sends, such as night vision being enabled or disabled, targeting another player, no-permission errors, player-not-found errors, and the reload confirmation.
- Open plugins/ProphVision/config.yml in a text editor.
- Change the message and prefix values to whatever you like.
- Save the file and run /nv reload to apply your changes — no server restart needed.
