The Resonance
The Resonance — screenshot 1

Warning: This mod is in early development. It is fully playable, but expect ongoing polishing and more content. EPILEPSY WARNING.

Depends on Iris Shaders.

Are you... blind? Can't see? Good luck.

As one is deprived of vision, their hearing is sharpened. Every sound helps you see. But most things aren't loud enough; their natural echoes leave you in the dark.

That's why you decided to... scream. The echolocation showcase.

Press V to scream. You will let out a loud, non-human synthetic sound. As the wavefront bounces off the environment, the geometry will illuminate, allowing you to briefly see. OR use your microphone (optional).

Live like a bat in this empty, pitch-black world and try to survive. Paint your world with sound. I believe in you.

Regarding progression

Trying to find ores can be incredibly frustrating when you can't see them. That's why the Void Resonator exists.

Crafted with an iron ingot in the center and 4 of any coal/charcoal on the sides, this tool sends out a targeted, high-frequency sonar sweep. It forces metallic and crystalline veins to vibrate, highlighting all the nearby ores in the cave you're in cleanly.

Additional info

This is more of a technical demo of a mod's base, than a fully released product. We'll call it a "Alpha Technical Demo Version".

What is currently missing/in-development:

Currently I want to gather some feedback on what is done and also to see how much this idea is actually viable, since being in the dark sounds cool on the paper, but... Running through the darkness and having tough times fighting your enemies can be pretty damn frustrating. And what should I tell about building your own base that you can't even properly see hahaha :p
