HikariBoard
HikariBoard is the most simple, elegant, light-weight scoreboard library currently out for spigot 1.7+
Backstory
Other plugins were too complicated or lacked features. Featherboard may be good for the layman's server but it was too difficult to develop with and didn't support easily creating or removing lines. For me as a developer, I knew there had to be a better solution. I stayed up all night trying to create a new way of creating scoreboards and finally came up with HikariBoard.
Why use it?
You may be asking, why should I use it for my plugin? The answer is that it is extremely easy to start working with. There is no fancy configuration you need to edit, no over-complex web of features. It is a simple scoreboard plugin that works out-of-the-box and doesn't do anything you don't ask it to do. It supports line-inserting, deleting of lines from anywhere in the scoreboard, and DOES NOT flicker.
Example
Code (Text):
@EventHandler
public void onScoreboardUpdate(ScoreboardEvent event){
Player player = event.getPlayer();
//Set the scoreboards title (objective display name) (optional but recommended)
event.setScoreboardName("Test Scoreboard");
//Set a line to always be at the top of the scoreboard (optional)
event.setHeader("---------");
//Set a line to always be at the bottom of the scoreboard (optional)
event.setFooter("---------");
//Write some lines to the scoreboard
//Note: No 'id' is necessary, unlike many scoreboad plugins HikariBoard operates a little differently
event.writeLine("Your Name");
event.writeLine(player.getName());
}
public void onScoreboardUpdate(ScoreboardEvent event){
Player player = event.getPlayer();
//Set the scoreboards title (objective display name) (optional but recommended)
event.setScoreboardName("Test Scoreboard");
//Set a line to always be at the top of the scoreboard (optional)
event.setHeader("---------");
//Set a line to always be at the bottom of the scoreboard (optional)
event.setFooter("---------");
//Write some lines to the scoreboard
//Note: No 'id' is necessary, unlike many scoreboad plugins HikariBoard operates a little differently
event.writeLine("Your Name");
event.writeLine(player.getName());
}
Once you have installed HikariBoard by putting it in your plugin folder, that one event is all you need to do to start working with HikariBoard.
FAQ
I am not a developer, how do I use this?
Well... you don't. HikariBoard is for developers to use and the only thing you need to do is put it in your plugin folder. It doesn't do anything alone.
Will you add feature XYZ?
Probably not. The entire point of HikariBoard is to reduce developer and end-user headache of configuring scoreboards. HikariBoard works out of the box which lets developers work on their plugin, rather than on creating or re-using a scoreboard system that is sluggish and buggy. However, if you feel your idea still stays within those guidelines, feel free to request the addition.
