The Black Forest: 1000x1000 #ConquestReforged #WeAreConquest

This map was inspired by the real Black Forest in southern Germany. That forest was for a long time considered too dark, rough, and impenetrable to enter or bother with. Eventually though, the forest was logged. My version retains the dark mystique of the virgin forest, and is quite thick enough to get lost in. Interspersed with the evergreens are some deciduous forests, mountains, meadows, and lakes. This map was made as a test bed for new techniques in World Painter, and as the ideal site to make a cathedral, castle, or medieval village. I even custom-made all the trees that I used. Overall, I am satisfied with the result and will apply what I have learned to future larger, projects. Enjoy the map!
