Install
- Install Paper or Purpur for your Minecraft server.
- Download the jar for your server version from Modrinth.
- Place the jar in the server's
pluginsdirectory. - Restart the server.
Supported platforms: Paper and Purpur for Minecraft 26.1–26.2. The plugin runs entirely server-side, so players do not need to install anything.
Use
- Start the server with Invis Death Message installed.
- A player gains the Invisibility effect.
- The invisible player kills another player directly or with a projectile.
- The plugin replaces the killer's identity with an animated obfuscated name and removes the weapon and damage details.
- When the killer is visible, the normal death message passes through unchanged.
Build from sourceTip: Only an invisible player killer triggers the hidden message. Invisible victims and deaths caused by non-player entities are not anonymized.
Requires JDK 25 and Gradle. Run the following command from the project root to build every supported version target:
gradle clean assemble
The distributable jars are written to:
build/libs/InvisDeathMessage-<version>-26.1.jarbuild/libs/InvisDeathMessage-<version>-26.2.jar
<version> is the mod_version value in gradle.properties.
