Origins: Sparrow

A brown feather at dawn's break, awaiting its prey to seize and take.

Introducing the Sparrow Origin, an Impact II origin centered around aerial combat, flight, and devastating ground slams. While advancements are planned for future updates, I'm already happy with how its visual and sound effects have turned out.

🪶 Adorned

Blessed with beautiful feathers, the sparrow soars farther than anyone expects.

⏵You begin with an elytra that does not need to be equipped.

⏵You cannot glide while wearing chestplates.

⏵While gliding, sprinting propels you forward, gradually building exhaustion.

Fly, Broken Wings:

• Taking damage interrupts your momentum, preventing you from boosting for a short time.

🐦 Talons, Slice the Sky

Beneath the sparrow's wings, the wind arrives as a herald of destruction.

⏵While gliding and looking downward, you may hurl yourself toward the ground, suffering no damage upon impact.

⏵Upon landing, a shockwave erupts, launching nearby entities skyward and afflicting them with Embrace.

🌫️ Trust in the Wind

They dance with the wind, children of the earth and sky.

⏵When above Y-100, you are considered Soaring. While Soaring, you gradually generate a resource.

⏵This resource increases your air movement speed.

Physiology:

• Your reach is shorter, but you deal increased damage while gliding.

🍂 Carrier

Never believe the sparrow to be weak. Its wings bear you with effortless grace.

⏵More than one entity can be carried simultaneously.

⏵The way you release carried entities depends on whether you're crouching.

⏵Releasing while crouching lets them descend safely, while releasing without crouching applies Embrace.

Aerial Brilliance:

• You can carry one player at a time.

🪽 Slice and Dice

Listen to their warnings or weep for what is to come.

⏵You can chain dashes forward with Secondary, while a mild Slow Falling effect keeps you aloft.

⏵Colliding with an Embraced target deals damage and sends them crashing downward.

Split the Earth:

• Activation requires Talons, Slice the Sky to be used first.
• ⏳ Timeframe: 10s

Heaven's Interlude:

• After striking a target with Slice and Dice, your Slow Falling effect ends, requiring you to glide to avoid fall damage.

🚯 Impractical

Place your faith in the wind, and nothing else will be required.

⏵You are unable to use fireworks to boost your flight.

🥀 Hindered

A small bird, shaped by an evolution that has shown it little kindness.

⏵Your speed and strength reduce when on the ground.
