Quick Sign Placer

by thepir4te · on Modrinth

Place signs instantly without the GUI by toggling a simple, customizable keybind with clear hotbar notifications.

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Fabric only.

⬇ Download for 26.1–26.1.2⬇ Download for 1.21.11
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Quick Sign Placer

Purpose

Quick Sign Placer is a client-side Fabric utility mod designed to accelerate building and decorative processes by removing the friction of the sign text editor. In standard Minecraft, every time a player places a sign, the game forces the text input GUI to open, which disrupts the workflow for builders. This mod provides a way to bypass that interface entirely, allowing signs to be placed instantly without any text input prompts.

Functionality

Toggleable Mode: Use a fully configurable keybind (default: customizable in settings) to enable or disable the quick-placing mode at any time.

GUI Bypass: When enabled, the mod intercepts the interaction call to the sign editor, allowing you to place signs immediately with a standard right-click.

Visual Feedback: To ensure the player is aware of the current state, a status notification appears above the hotbar when the mode is toggled:

"Quick Sign Placing: ON" (Green): GUI is suppressed, signs place instantly.

"Quick Sign Placing: OFF" (Red): Standard Minecraft behavior is restored.

ModMenu Integration: All settings are easily accessible and configurable via the ModMenu interface.

Technical Notes

This is a client-side only mod. It functions by modifying the client's interaction handling to skip the packet or screen-opening logic associated with placing signs. It does not alter server-side game rules, meaning it will function on any server as long as the server allows standard sign placement.
