When that timer reaches zero, the killer will be out to get you...
Outlast is a game where one is the killer, and the rest are survivors.
The survivors will have to run and hide from the killer while having to fix generators to win the game.
Failure to do so will result in death.
Will you be able to outlast?
Game setup (MUST DO):
1. Create the generators with the /generator command (you can create as many as you want).
- Make sure you are looking at a block first before doing so.
2. Set the spawnpoints of the killer, survivors, and queue using the spawnpoints commands.
3. Select who the killer should be using the /setkiller or /setkillerrandom command.
4. Make sure you have a good amount of generators that meets or exceeds the maximum amount of generators found in your config.yml! Otherwise survivors won't win the game
How to play:
When the game starts:
Survivors have a variable amount of time to run and hide from the killer (can be changed in config.yml). When the timer reaches zero, the killer will be released to hunt the survivors.
During the game:
Survivors must fix the necessary amount of generators to win the game while hiding or
running from the killer.
After the game:
If all survivors die, the killer wins. That's it.
Mechanics:
Most of the mechanics and functionality in this minigame was inspired by the Dead By Daylight video-game.
Game:
NOTE: All player inventories and effects will be cleared upon starting the game.
- There is no timer, take as much time as you need as the survivor. However, you won't win the game if you just keep on hiding.
- All players can no longer sprint during the game.
Generators:
- The generator type is defaulted to be a smithing_table. The type can be changed in the config.yml
- Generators can have a chance of exploding (can be changed in the config.yml). Any player that is within the explosion radius will have their location revealed to the killer for 6 seconds (glow effect given).
Killer:
- The killer walks a bit faster than the survivors and is invulnerable to any damage.
- If the killer injures a survivor, the killer will slow down for 4 seconds, giving the survivor a chance to escape. Survivors will also be knocked back.
Survivor:
Survivors have 4 power-up items that they can use during the game.
- Heal: Regenerate health for 6 seconds.
- Speed: Walk 2x faster than the killer for 6 seconds.
- Vanish: Become invisible for 6 seconds.
- Blind: Blind and slow down the killer and gain 1.5x speed boost for 6 seconds. The killer must be within 10 blocks for blind to take effect.
The amount of power-ups that survivors can use can be changed in the config.yml
NOTE: Unfortunately I don't have the option to set a map border for the game. So
if you don't want players to run off infinitely into the distance and never come back,
you'll have to make your own map border. Sorry
I might add that into the plugin later on so watch out for any updates.
For now, I suggest you use the WorldBorder plugin, unless if you're gonna
make a physical border then that works too!
