Lava Pockets Removed is a small NeoForge mod that prevents the Nether's tiny 1x1 lava pocket springs from generating.
What It Does
- Removes single-block lava spring pockets during Nether world generation.
- Leaves normal Nether terrain, lava oceans, and other lava features alone.
- Works in singleplayer and on dedicated servers.
- Supports custom Nether biomes and world-generation mods by avoiding biome-list edits.
Compatibility
The mod targets the vanilla lava spring placement logic directly through SpringFeature#place. Because it cancels only Nether lava spring placement instead of replacing biome data, other mods can still add, remove, or reorder their own biome features normally.
Installation
Singleplayer
Install the mod in your local NeoForge mods folder before generating new Nether chunks.
Dedicated Servers
Install the mod on the server. Players do not need to install it on their clients.
Notes
- Existing lava pockets in already-generated chunks are not removed.
- The change applies when new Nether chunks generate.
- The mod is focused only on 1x1 lava pocket springs, not all Nether lava.
