Better Gems is a Fabric mod that adds new types of materials, equipment and special traits to Minecraft. It aims to rework features around original concepts, mantaining the essence of vanilla Minecraft.

Rainbow Obsidian Update
The first major content update introduces a new progression path centered around obsidian.
Reinforced Copper PickaxeIt has 50% more durability than a copper pickaxe, faster mining speed, and the ability to mine obsidian into molten obsidian shards.
Mining Obsidian with the Reinforced Copper Pickaxe has a chance to produce Molten Obsidian Shards. These rare fragments are one of the key ingredients required to create Rainbow Obsidian.
A completely new obsidian variant. Can be crafted with molten obsidian shards, amethyst and obsidian. It does not spawn naturally. It can be used to create rainbow obsidian equipment.
Attacks made using rainbow obsidian weapons (and tools) inflict Bleed Damage, causing enemies to suffer Wither III for a short duration.
