TreasureRun
TreasureRun is an early-alpha treasure-hunt minigame for Spigot 1.20.1. v0.2.0-alpha adds a bounded server-hosted round flow for two to eight participants while preserving the existing /gamestart compatibility path.
Create a session, let players join, start the countdown, and run the round through a small set of server-hosted commands.
Alpha status
This release is intended for testing on a non-production Spigot 1.20.1 server. Keep a current world backup before testing.
Server-hosted flow
• One server-hosted session at a time
• Two to eight participants
• /treasurerun create
• /treasurerun join
• /treasurerun leave
• /treasurerun start
• /treasurerun stop
• /treasurerun status
• create, start, and stop use the treasure.admin permission boundary
• join and leave are available while the session is waiting
• start locks the participant roster before the round begins
• a 10-second countdown runs before RUNNING
• active-round stop, disconnect, disable, and preparation-failure paths converge on the shared cleanup/recovery flow
• participant return locations are persisted before teleport and cleared only after a successful return
Gameplay
• Treasure-proximity audio and visual cues
• Treasure chest objectives
• Staged effects and score feedback
• Existing easy, normal, and hard /gamestart compatibility flow
• Optional database-backed ranking features
Requirements
• Java 17
• Spigot 1.20.1
• No required plugin dependencies
• ProtocolLib is an optional soft dependency
• MySQL is optional and disabled by default
• ResourcePack use is optional
Localization
TreasureRun includes 23 plugin-owned locale files, including English. The 22 non-English locale identifiers are listed in the Languages Supported field.
Client ResourcePack content is not bundled as a public generated pack. When needed, it is generated locally by the server operator from their own Minecraft 1.20.1 installation. Automatic public ResourcePack delivery is disabled by default.
Verification
The v0.2.0-alpha release was exercised with two- and eight-participant live flows, competing lifecycle operations, disconnect/stop/disable handling, preparation and teleport failure handling, restart/reconnect recovery, and checks that protected worlds remained unchanged.
