Tungsten Construction

Tungsten, one of the heaviest substances known to man. But it's a shame we can't actually wield it... or can we?

The Tungsten Construction mod introduces Tungsten as a unique block and material, often sacrificing speed for strength. Tungsten weapons deal extra knockback but in exchange for speed, and all tungsten blocks (except ores) are completely blast-proof. Yes, including their redstone components!

Whether you simply want to fight with a new edge, or build blast bunkers underground, tungsten has loads of uses!

Functionality Details:

Ores Ores generate between y=15 and y=-15, becoming most frequent at y=0. Tungsten requires an iron tool. Tools Tungsten tools can mine the same as iron tools do. However, all tungsten tools deal 0.5 damage more than iron (except for the axe), deal extra knockback, but can only be swung at half speed. Blocks Raw Tungsten and it's three variants are all blast resistant. Tungsten Cubes and it's variants are all blast resistant *and* unable to be pushed/pulled by pistons.

Although these blocks can survive any standard game explosion, their blast resistance values are fairly low, meaning custom explosions with higher explosion power (such as via commands) could still destroy these blocks, giving an opportunity for things like minigames, where some blocks can only be destroyed by some weapons, and some more easily. The blast resistances are as follows:

Tungsten ores - 3

Reforged tungsten cube - 500

Raw/Normal tungsten block/stairs/slabs/walls - 75

Tungsten door/trapdoor - 60

Tungsten bars - 40

Tungsten button - 30

Tungsten pressure plate - 30

Future Plans

• Add a tungsten armor set
• Actually give the reforged tungsten cube functionality
• Make tungsten more common in The Nether near lava levels

Known Issues

• Potential mod intercompatability issues with shovels, axes, and hoes
• Trapdoor texture is inconsistent

About this project
