The surrounding world is also affected, as nearby blocks are converted into crystal variants, with dirt and grass becoming solid crystal, stone developing embedded crystal growths, and other natural blocks transforming into crystal-themed equivalents such as crystal sand, crystal wood, and crystal leaves. As the infection advances, victims progress through multiple stages—from healthy, to infected, to visible crystal growth, then becoming almost completely encased, and finally transforming into a fully crystallized being.
