Recipe Book +
A small, client side mod that aims at improving dinky vanilla recipe book with unobtrusive QoL features. Mojang did really drop the ball with recipe system so here I am.
Features
Item Usages Allows searching for recipes that use that item as an ingredient. By default, search prefix is "$" |
|
| Mod search Allows searching for items from certain mods. By default, search prefix is "@" |
Recipe grouping toggle Ever looked at recipes inside the book and wondered why some of them are grouped? Or wanted to see all 16 colors of [Insert colored item here]? Well fret no more, as there is now handy toggle to that behavior! |
|
| Keybinds Useful keybinds to ease the process of searching. hover over an item |
New UI [v1.0.4+] New custom-built ui with fancy recipe book stylization. Boring plain vanilla ui begone! Don't worry, vanilla like ui can be enabled in config ;) |
|
Future
- Search improvements: I would like to also add combination, negation and better user feedback and feel for searching. So for example "@minecraft&diamond" would search for every item recipe with diamond in its name and from minecraft modid
- Visual improvements: Configurable additional display options (fullscreen book or no shift when opening it), wider/bigger book. Also would love to support to visually preview the search (ex: when user inputs "Diamond" a little display would show item visually)
Why?
Because i recently watched my friend play minecraft 26.2 for the first time. not just version. minecraft as a whole. vanilla. blind. Meaning that without stuff like JEI or extensive item tooltips and other QoL improvements mods offer it was kinda miserable experience XD So I and some other people set out on a journey to show how beautiful modded can be BUT also keep that first time discovery whimsy of blind playthough. No one likes to be interrupted by reading wikis. Maybe if you are GTNH nerd but then why are you reading this? The point is - I don't like how JEI just splurges humongous list of items, craftable and uncraftable upon the player from the get go.
