Daily Random Chunk: 100 Days

by Reallucaz · on Modrinth

A recreation of carvs's "Every Day This One Chunk Expands RANDOM (100 days)". Each day adds 3 layers below your single chunk, building down to the End…

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Fabric only.

I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Daily Random Chunk

The world is empty except for one 16x16 chunk. Every in-game day, that chunk grows three layers deeper, and each layer is made of a single randomly picked block — could be stone, could be lava, could be something useless. The run is about surviving on what the chunk happens to give you, for 100 days, until you can reach the End.

How it works

The Nether

The Nether is also a single chunk. It doesn't grow — it's generated once as a stack of themed chambers you dig down through: nether wastes, a gravel graveyard with skeleton spawners, crimson and warped forests, a soul sand valley, a blaze spawner room, an enderman spawner room, basalt deltas, a chamber with a loot chest, an ancient debris layer, a lava sea, and an obsidian floor at the bottom. This is where you get blaze rods and ender pearls, since there's no other reliable source in the run.

Options

When creating the world (Edit Game Rules), or later with /gamerule, you can toggle what the random layers are allowed to contain: water, lava, fire, hazard blocks (magma, cactus, etc.), valuable blocks (diamond blocks, netherite, etc.), and functional blocks (chests, furnaces, spawners). Everything is enabled by default.

How to play

Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20 through 26.2 — download the file matching your game version. Requires Fabric API. Must be installed on both server and client for multiplayer.

Important: when creating your world, select the "Daily Random Chunk (100 Days)" world type. Without it, you'll get a normal world.
