Soulbound — Official Resource Pack

A custom-texture and custom-font pack made for the Soulbound Minecraft server plugin. It reskins the plugin's soul items into color-coded crystal items and adds an animated ability HUD that appears above the player's hotbar. Every texture is 32×32 pixel art, hand-drawn pixel-by-pixel. Nothing vanilla is changed — the pack only affects items that carry Soulbound's CustomModelData, plus its own custom font.

1. Fifteen unique "soul crystal" item textures (applied to the vanilla Echo Shard item, so they work in survival with no mods): Spirit (violet rune), Blaze (orange), Swift (cyan), Ironclad (silver), Venom (lime), Frost (ice blue), Storm (gold bolt), Shadow (purple), Guardian (amber), Radiant (pale gold), Inferno (crimson), Quake (brown), Gale (white-cyan), Void (indigo), Sovereign (mythic magenta). Each soul is a dark purple crystal with its own colored rune engraved in the core, so players can tell all 15 apart at a glance in the inventory, hotbar, or hand.

2. Three more ritual/special item textures:

• Lost Soul (on Quartz) — a grey, hollowed-out crystal with a visible crack marking a spent soul
• Empty Soul (on Ghast Tear) — a hollow grey crystal outline used in the rebirth ritual
• Soul Fragment (on Amethyst Shard) — a small broken purple shard, the plugin's currency item

3. An animated ability HUD — a custom font (soulbound:hud) with 204 glyphs: 17 icon sets × 12 animation frames each, one set per soul, plus Ghost and Cooldown icons. When a player uses a power, the icon box above the hotbar turns dark and a bright highlight wipes downward frame-by-frame as the 45–120 second cooldown recharges. Fully bright icon = ability ready. Without this pack the boxes render as blank spaces.

4. A matching pack icon — dark crystal with a glowing purple rune, shown in the resource-pack list.

5. New-format item model definitions (range_dispatch on custom_model_data) for Echo Shard, Quartz, Ghast Tear and Amethyst Shard. Vanilla items without the plugin's data keep their normal look, so this pack cannot break or reskin anything else in your game, and it layers cleanly over other packs.

✦ How this changes your experience

• With the Soulbound plugin + this pack: soul items become instantly recognizable colored crystals instead of identical vanilla shards, the inventory/hand art matches each soul's identity, and players get cooldown feedback directly at the crosshair without opening any menu or chat.
• Without the plugin: the pack is still usable on its own — the custom models trigger on any Echo Shard/Quartz/Ghast Tear/Amethyst Shard given the matching CustomModelData (e.g. /give @s echo_shard[custom_model_data=7] shows the Storm crystal), so builders, mapmakers and server admins can reuse the 18 crystal textures in custom maps or other plugins.
• With no pack at all on a Soulbound server: everything still functions, but souls look like plain vanilla items and the HUD boxes are invisible — this pack is what makes the system readable.

Example of what a player actually sees: you're holding the Storm Soul — a purple crystal with a golden lightning rune. You sneak + right-click and lightning strikes nearby enemies. Instantly, the crosshair icon box goes dark. Over the next 90 seconds, the lit golden icon wipes downward a slice at a time — and the moment it's fully bright again, you know Thundercall is ready without ever checking a number.

Theme: dark-fantasy "soul magic" — one consistent visual language (shadowed purple crystal + colored inner rune) carried across every item, the HUD, and the pack icon.

✦ Compatibility & installation

• Minecraft 1.21.4 or newer required (uses the new item-model format introduced in 1.21.4). Tested on 1.21.11.
• No mods, no OptiFine, no Fabric/Forge needed — pure vanilla resource-pack features (custom models + custom font).
• Singleplayer: drop the zip into .minecraft/resourcepacks and enable it like any pack.
• Server-wide: host the zip and point resource-pack= at it in server.properties (optionally set resource-pack-sha1= from sha1sum so clients cache correctly). Players accept the pack once on join.
• Works on top of other packs as long as they don't override the same four item models.
