Ancient Realms: Bushy Leaves Remake

Ancient Realms: Bushy Leaves transforms vanilla foliage into dense, three-dimensional bushy leaves while preserving the familiar Minecraft look and natural biome colors.

The add-on supports 11 leaf types and automatically converts existing vanilla foliage into optimized custom bushy leaves. Trees grown naturally or with bone meal are detected and updated quickly, keeping newly generated forests consistent with the surrounding world.

The Remake edition uses carefully optimized custom geometry to provide fuller and more natural-looking tree canopies without excessive performance costs. Controlled foliage scanning helps maintain smooth gameplay, including on Android devices.

Important Installation Notice

Both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack must be activated in your world.

This add-on converts vanilla leaf blocks into custom Ancient Realms blocks. Because these custom blocks become part of the world, removing the add-on may cause converted foliage to appear missing or incorrectly rendered.

Always create a backup of your world before installing the add-on. Bushy Leaves Remake is best treated as a long-term world dependency and should not be removed from an existing world unless you are prepared to restore or replace the affected foliage.

Changelog – v1.21 Remake

Complete remake of the visual and harvesting systems. All previous geometry and textures were replaced with original Ancient Realms assets, including a new double-sided 3D leaf shape. Custom leaves are now available in Creative, break at vanilla speeds with all tools and Efficiency levels, and reproduce vanilla-style Silk Touch, Shears, Fortune, sapling, stick, and apple drops. Chunk scanning was also optimized for smoother performance, especially on Android.

- Added and verified compatibility with Ancient Realms: Tree Capitator v2.7.1.
- Added and verified compatibility with Ancient Realms: Snowy Leaves v1.0.13.
- All three add-ons can now be used together in the same world.
- Snowy Leaves preserves the original Bushy Leaves geometry beneath its snow caps and overlays.
- Tree Capitator correctly recognizes Bushy Leaves as part of their corresponding vanilla trees.
- Both integrations are optional—Bushy Leaves Remake continues to work normally as a standalone add-on.

Fixes and Improvements

- Fixed a rare issue where leaves from a separate, relatively distant tree could decay when another tree was felled.
- Added boundary-safe leaf decay detection.
- Leaf components extending beyond the local support scan are now preserved instead of being incorrectly treated as unsupported.
- Improved compatibility with Tree Capitator’s tree and canopy detection.
- Preserved protection for player-placed leaves and constructed builds.
- Preserved instant Bushy Leaves conversion for newly grown sapling trees.
- Preserved vanilla-equivalent mining speed, Silk Touch, shears, Fortune and natural leaf drops.
- No changes were made to the established Bushy Leaves geometry, textures or visual variations.
