The Flesh Castle isnt just a fortress, it is the petrified carcass of a dead god named Carnis Vael.
Before its flesh turned to stone, the ancient Flesh Smiths of Vaelora pinned the writhing deity down with heavy iron and massive stone stakes, forcing its dying body into the shape of a castle. Its screaming mouth became the main entrance, its tongue was paved into the front causeway, and its coiled spine makes up the outer ramparts.
