### Knights of History — What It Adds & How It Feels To Play

> **A living medieval England, rebuilt block-for-block in Bedrock. Not just new items — a new way to play.**

You install one `.mcaddon` (2 subpacks) or one `.mcpack` (4 subpacks). You pick **Performance 16X** on your phone or **Quality 64X** on your RTX rig. Same world, same castles — completely different fidelity.

#### 1. WHAT IT ADDS — The Content

**🛡️ Knight Armour Rework — A True Progression Tier**

- **4-piece Polished Plate:** Great Helm (4 armor) + Plate Cuirass (10) + Plated Greaves (7) + Sabatons (4) = **25 armor**. Tougher than diamond, just under netherite — but with **Enchantability 15** (like gold) so you *want* to enchant it.

- **You can't mine it.** It crafts *only* from `Ancient Steel Ingot` + `Forged Nail` — found exclusively in structure chests. Forces you out of the strip-mine.

**🐎 Horse Armour Rework — Your Warhorse Matters Now**

- Vanilla horse armour is gone. Replaced with 4 **Caparisons** you *equip* onto a new animal:

  - `Steel` (9 prot) — crafted

  - `Crusader Cross` (12) — Market Town / Fortress

  - `Gilded` (11) — Gothic Cathedral altar

  - `Royal Lion` (13) — **only** in Westminster Abbey vault or crafted with a `Golden Chalice`

- **New Entity: Warhorse** — rare Plains/Savanna spawn, tame with Golden Carrot/Apple/Steel, **rideable, breedable, armorable**. 45 HP (60 when armored), 0.34 speed, 0.85 jump. It’s not a horse, it’s a tank.

**🏰 Living Castles — Not Empty Shells**

Every **Siege Fortress** (Plains/Jagged Peaks) and **Walled Market Town** (Savanna/Desert Oasis) *lives*:

- `Heavy Knight` (40 HP, 9 dmg, enrages at 50%) — patrols, fights monsters *for you*

- `Royal Archer` (30 yard range, strafes) — on the walls

- `Guard Villager` — defends civilians, hates illagers

- `Civilian` (male/female, panic AI) — trade wheat → emerald, celebrate hunts

**👑 The King — Ghostly Monarch**

- `King Lionheart` — 200 HP **boss** *only* in Westminster Abbey's throne room. Darkens the sky, boss bar, phases through walls (`no_gravity`), summons 4 Spectral Knights every 22 seconds, **transforms at 50% HP** (faster, 18 dmg, 1.0 knockback resist). Drops his **Crown (Nether Star)** + full Royal Caparison + plate.

- You will hear him before you see him.

**💎 Premium Entities — The Trailer Hooks**

- **Gargoyle Sentry** — looks like a statue (0 movement, invulnerable). Mine near it with a pickaxe? It *wakes up* (0.35 speed, 12 armor). Perfect for hidden jumpscares + marketplace cosmetic recolors (Marble/Obsidian/Mossy).

- **Plague Doctor** — wanders Ruined Monasteries selling potions. Hit by lightning? Becomes a 120 HP **poison-boss** throwing splash potions. Locks end-game alchemy behind him.

- **Siege Golem** — 150 HP, 2.2×3.2, **rideable by 2**, tame with golden apple. Right-click with a stick → **fires a burning tarball** (campfire smoke + ghast fire). Built to smash castle walls on camera.

**⛪ 5 Hand-Built Structures — Zero Village Overlap**

| Structure | Biome | Feels Like | Danger | The Payoff |

|---|---|---|---|---|

| **Gothic Cathedral** | Plain / Sunflower Plains | Candle-lit nave, soul particles | **False-floor pits** (carpet → lava pit + Blindness 6s) | `Golden Chalice`, Lv30 Treasure Books, Gilded Caparison |

| **Ruined Monastery** | Forest / Birch Forest | Overgrown, spore-filled | **Falling gravel** + spore **Blindness/Nausea** | Ancient Tomes (paper), Rare Heirloom Seeds, Guide Book |

| **Siege Fortress** | Plains / Jagged Peaks | Active garrison | **Hidden arrow turrets** (behind chiseled stone) + Lava chutes | `Forged Nail`×20, Lv20 Steel Swords/Crossbows, TNT |

| **Walled Market Town** | Savanna / Desert Oasis | Busy, gated bazaar | **Blocked gates** + pressure plates | Emerald Blocks, Trader Maps |

| **Westminster Abbey** **ONE PER WORLD (0.8% rarity, flat Plains only)** | 85×42×55, beard_box, offset -42,-1,-27 | The end-game | Lava chutes + 5-block chest trigger summons the King + 2 Gargoyles | **Full Knight Set, Royal Caparison, Totem, Netherite Ingot, Royal Hymn disc** |

All `.mcstructure` built via Structure Block, `y=-1` offset so they never float or bury, 80-150 blocks from villages.

#### 2. HOW IT CHANGES HOW YOU PLAY — The Experience

**From Miner to Explorer.**

Vanilla loop is *mine → craft → win*. Knights of History breaks it. Your best armour **cannot be mined**. You need `Forged Nails`. Those are in Fortress chests. Which are guarded by Heavy Knights and arrow turrets. So you *prepare*, you *travel*, you *raid*. Every cathedral you clear makes you tangibly stronger for the Abbey.

**Risk / Reward That You Feel.**

- Step on the wrong carpet in the Cathedral? Floor vanishes, you fall toward lava while blind. You *remember* that room.

- Hear the *click* of a tripwire in the Fortress? An arrow whistles from a wall you thought was decoration. You start checking walls.

- Open the Abbey chest? The screen darkens, soul particles swirl, chat screams *"WESTMINSTER ABBEY AWAKENS"* — and the King phases through the altar behind you. It's not a loot chest, it's a boss arena.

**The World Feels Alive (and a little safer, a little more dangerous).**

- Villages are no longer quiet. Market Towns have guards who *actually fight* off a zombie siege while civilians panic and run. You can hire them — they follow you for emeralds.

- Forests are no longer empty. A wandering friar will trade you the Guide Book for books. A cursed acolyte will ambush you in the ruins.

- Taming a Warhorse early changes traversal. You’re faster, taller, and when you finally drape that Royal Lion Caparison over it, you *feel* like a knight. Other players notice.

**Difficulty With a Fair Curve.**

- Early: Monastery (Forest) — 26 HP acolytes, spore traps you can learn. Gives you seeds and tomes to get started.

- Mid: Cathedral / Fortress / Market — 30-40 HP knights, turrets, blocked exits. You’ll need iron and the steel you just looted.

- End: Westminster Abbey — One shot per world. 200 HP boss that summons adds. You bring your best plate, your Warhorse, maybe a Siege Golem. If you win, you’re done — full set + totem + nether star crown.

**It Respects Your Device.**

- On a phone in Wigan on the bus? **Performance 16X** — 256px, 70% fewer particles, minimal sounds, 75% less VRAM. Same castles, same loot, 60 FPS on 2GB RAM.

- On a PC with shaders? **Quality 64X** — 1024px, PBR `_mer` + `_normal` maps so plate *reflects*, all 4 sounds (chant, gargoyle crack, king roar), campfire smoke everywhere. It pushes Bedrock to its limit.

- You switch with one slider. No reinstall. That’s why the pack has 2 subpacks (`.mcaddon`) and 4 subpacks (`.mcpack`) — you choose, or let the game auto-pick by `memory_tier`.

**What Players Do Longer (and why it’s built that way):**

- **Hunt the Abbey:** 0.8% rarity means you *will* search, you *will* use the Trader Maps from Market Towns, you *will* talk about the seed where you found it. Retention is built into rarity.

- **Collect the Set:** Steel → Crusader → Gilded → Royal. Four horse armours, four plate pieces, one chalice. It’s a checklist that never feels grindy because each piece is tied to a *place*.

- **Tame & Show Off:** Warhorses are rare (1-1 herd) and breedable. Players spend hours finding the perfect one, then armoring it. Multiplayer servers turn into jousting yards.

**In One Sentence:**

You stop *surviving* Minecraft and start *inhabiting* medieval England — where every ruined monastery has a story, every fortress is garrisoned, and somewhere on a flat plain, a single Abbey waits with a king who has not slept in 500 years.

*Install: Double-click `KnightsOfHistory_2Tier.mcaddon` (or `KnightsOfHistory_4Subpack.mcpack`), activate, enable Holiday Creator + Custom Biomes, create world. First command: `/give @s kn:history_guide_book` — it explains the rest.*
