Tam's Backpacks

Tam's Backpacks adds some portable storage similar to shulker boxes. You can wear them (when accessory api installed) have 6, 12, and 18 slots. The backpack menu appears to the left or right of your inventory, crafting tables, chests and so on. Put a backpack on, and the extra slots are just there! Making it as seamless as possible without needing a key just to open it, acting as an extension of your inventory.

They can spawn as loot in dungeons and all 3 tiers can be crafted, both of those are configurable to have disabled or not.

Use Accessory API alongside this mod, it just adds a dedicated slot for backpacks.
