Chainmail Under Armor

Chainmail Under Armor is a Minecraft Fabric 26.1.1 mod that adds the ability to wear chainmail armor under your main armor.

Chainmail becomes an additional layer of protection: first, the player equips chainmail in an armor slot, and then puts a regular armor piece on top of it. This allows chainmail and other armor types to be combined, providing additional protection.

Core Mechanics

The mod adds an additional equipment layer for each armor slot.

First, chainmail is placed in an armor slot. After that, a regular armor piece can be equipped on top of the chainmail.

Chainmail cannot be equipped on top of another piece of chainmail. This prevents meaningless duplication of identical equipment pieces.

To remove chainmail, you must first remove the main armor piece worn over it.

Additional Protection

! Currently does not work as intended

Chainmail armor worn underneath the main armor reduces the amount of damage that passes through the outer armor layer.

The more chainmail pieces you wear, the stronger the additional protection becomes.

Chainmail Piece	Additional Damage Reduction
Chainmail Helmet	+4%
Chainmail Chestplate	+8%
Chainmail Leggings	+5%
Chainmail Boots	+2%

The percentages stack depending on the number of equipped chainmail pieces.

A full set of chainmail provides:

4% + 8% + 5% + 2% = 19% damage reduction for damage that passes through the outer armor layer.

Installation

1. Install Minecraft Fabric 26.1.1.
2. Install the required version of Fabric API.
3. Download the mod .jar file from the Releases section.
4. Move the file to:

.minecraft/mods

1. Launch Minecraft using the Fabric profile.

Planned Features

Further development of the additional armor mechanics is planned for future versions.

Possible directions include:

• Support for chainmail enchantments.
• Interaction between enchantments on the inner and outer armor layers.
• Improved compatibility with other mods.
• Fixing known issues.
• Improvements to the equipment interface and armor display.
• Release of a stable version.

Known Issues

The project is currently in the Alpha stage, so bugs and unstable behavior may occur.

At the current stage of development, issues may occur with:

• saving the state of additional equipment;
• switching between game modes;
• rejoining a world;
• handling player death and player restoration;
• interaction with certain Minecraft mechanics.

Some of these issues are already known and will be fixed in future versions.
