Block Decay

BlockDecay turns Minecraft survival into a race against a world that is progressively destroying itself.

At a configurable interval, a Minecraft block type is selected and progressively removed from the world.

Stone, Dirt, Sand, Water, Wood, Ores, Deepslate...

As the game progresses, even the most essential parts of the world can disappear.

Your objective is not simply to survive:

BlockDecay always prioritizes the area where the action is happening.


The complete 3x3 chunk area around every player is processed before the decay continues farther into the world.

This keeps the destruction visible and dangerous instead of wasting processing time on distant terrain.

Very common materials such as Stone, Dirt, Sand, Water and Deepslate can represent thousands of blocks, so BlockDecay spreads their removal across server ticks while remaining aggressive enough for the game mode.



BlockDecay dynamically adapts its processing workload to current server performance.

When the server has enough available processing time, the decay runs aggressively.

If tick times begin to increase, the workload is automatically reduced.

In multiplayer, every player receives their own priority decay area and processing time is distributed fairly between active players.




BlockDecay can generate and manage its own dedicated game world, allowing you to run the challenge without destroying your server's normal survival world.
